Aunque nací en Palma de Mallorca en 1968, viví en León desde los 11 años. Mi afición por las montañas y la naturaleza surgió en esa extensa provincia de la mano de mi padre y mi hermano, aficionados ambos a la pesca, a los que yo acompañaba con esa excusa de ir a pescar, pero a mí, lo que realmente me gustaba era estar en el campo. Luego empezaron las salidas al monte, primero con el colegio y después con mis amigos del club de montaña Collado Jermoso de León, ahí empezó mi afición por la fotografía de paisajes, con una vieja Kodak que me regaló mi padre.
Actualmente resido en Cantabria, comunidad a la que vine a estudiar en 1993 y de donde ya no me fui.
Yo no he ganado grandes concursos ni publicado en revistas prestigiosas, pero creo que disfruto de la fotografía de naturaleza tanto como los que lo han hecho. Y eso es lo que me hace seguir, simplemente el hecho de pasármelo bien y disfrutar con ello. Pienso también que mostrando este tipo de imágenes podemos contribuir un poco a la conservación de los espacios naturales que todavía nos quedan.
Tengo que dar las gracias a mi mujer, Anita, sería injusto no hacerlo, pues es la gran sufridora de mis viajes y mis días de monte. El esfuerzo que ella hace para que yo pueda seguir con todo esto, es enorme.
Though I was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1968, I lived in León (Spain) since I was 11. My interest for the mountains and the nature arose in this extensive province together with my father and my brother, fans both to the fishing, whom I was accompanying with the excuse to go fishing, but to me, what really I liked was to be in the bush. Then I started hiking in the mountains, first with the school and later with my friends of the mountaineering club “Collado Jermoso” of León, there it began my interest for the nature photography, with an old Kodak photo camera that my father gave me.
Nowadays I live in Cantabria, region to which I came to study in 1993 and wherefrom already I did not go away.
I have not won big competitions or have published in prestigious journals, but I believe that I enjoy the nature photography so much as those who have done it. And that’s what keeps me going, just the fact to have fun and enjoy it. I also think that showing such images can contribute a little to the conservation of natural areas that still remain.
I have to thank my wife, Ana; it would be unfair not to do so, as is the great sufferer from my travels and my hiking days. The effort that she makes for me to go through with this is enormous.
